Changing the color of a room can dramatically change the appearance and feel of it. When repainting your home it is easiest just to think about the color of each individual room. Instead, plan a color scheme for the whole house. For example, pick a palette of colors that evokes the southwestern landscape, the Blue Ridge Mountains, or your favorite vacation place. Each space can be one color within the overall scheme.
This idea does not mean that you have to repaint your whole house at one time. You can paint one or two rooms at a time as part of a long-term, colorful vision to transform your home.
